I have a reasonably decent Nvidia card, the Linux drivers can be installed through the inbuilt package manager, hope that helps...

Steam offers a growing list of Linux-native games, and Windows games that are supported through an inbuilt shell.
On my rig (I use Ubuntu), i can start up my Linux Steam, install DOOM, and it will run out-of-the-box at a solid 60fps on 1920x1080
An Ubuntu installation also offers an easily implemented dual-boot option
