There were some 3rd gears that were improperly heat treated in thefirst couple production years, and some steering stem stripped threads on some later models. A slipper clutch was added in 2013.
A friend purchased his used 2006 Roadliner in 2009 for $6500 with less than 250 miles on the odometer. Original owner went for one ride to the Golden Gate bridge with his wife and parked it covered in the garage for 3 years.

As much as I love the styling of the R18, my bank account says a 2013 Yamaha Roadliner S is going to be more enjoyable without the hefty monthly payments.
