My guess is like the Tiger 800, the Versys will spawn more variations, possibly a direct competitor to it or the BMW F’s, Ténéré 700 or KTM 790 Adventure.
The only information I have seen regarding averaging:
From what I have read, small manufacturers with 500 or less employees and selling less than 3000 units were an additional 2 years to comply with the Tier 2 regulations. There was no other mention of particular model sales volume or grand fathering older models.

The factory that made the Snowmobile kits was also minutes from my home. Ossipee, NH is the home of the first snowmobile, as shown on the sign along the White Mountain Highway.

Six or seven years ago I was retrieving the shop mail, while working in NorCal, and heard an unusual exhaust tone. A white sports car, the Kaiser Darrin was heading north on Hwy 49. Not completely certain as to what I had seen, I rushed back in the shop to google it. First and only one I have ever seen.
