Chevrolet and GMC offered AWD vans 2003 - 2014. It is possible to convert these vans to true 4x4 by doing a transfer case swap. To my knowledge, there were no 4x4 vans produced by US manufacturers. On the other hand, Japanese and German manufacturers built 4x4 vans.
Obviously someone chose to keep the stock steelies and whitewalls, which is fine for most driving situations, when aired down a bit. In the 1970's it was difficult to find good tires for off-roading that were good on the road too.
Pathfinder did a bunch of 4x4 van conversion too.
The vinyl landau top doesn’t make it look any better.

I’ve only been to VIR once, back in 2005, for the Virginia 400 Kilometres Grand Am event. It was a rain soaked weekend, up to the start of the DP / GT race on Sunday. All practices and qualifying were done in the rain, so set ups for the race were less than ideal for a rapidly drying track.
