The movie and animation style is beautiful. Probably the most beautiful visual effects most people will see for 2016. What ever your opinion maybe about the plot ( i liked it ) the animation alone makes it worth the time and money spent.

IMO, the movie was about repression and acceptance. Denial of who he was and what he wanted was leading him to suicide. The farting was a (gross) metaphor for releasing what's inside you and not being ashamed of your less perfect attributes.
