Not every small studio have the money to invest on hiring. I would even say that 90% don’t, as it usually starts as a work of passion with friends.

It must be exhausting seeing everything you’re not satisfied with as “money grabs,” especially creative works
If I remember correctly, because I wasn’t invested in this and it was not a game for me, the whole reason games... no, ideas like this one got traction in the first place back then was because it was Minecraft, but more linear and story based and less sandbox. Same reason why lots of people were interested in the…
As a small dev, he probably couldn't afford this. It's nice on paper to suggest hire it out, but your average person can't do that. To even outsource to China or India would still be a serious money sink that he may never recover from. At best, he could've probably found a few designers who'd be willing to work…
I remember the developer releasing a statement about how how the massive delays were caused by his severe struggles with mental health and anxiety over his own game’s quality throughout development. Knowing that honestly makes this entire situation so much more tragic.
My issue isn’t with “Twitch thots” (and I never once refer to Amouranth as a thot or anything else; don’t put words in my mouth), my issue is with Twitch’s inconsistent moderation, where a woman playing a game in a costume can get in trouble, but a woman who is half-naked and who’s profile is two two clicks away from…
And now they’re charging you for an arguably shittier, albeit official take on it.
Shittier? Seems even most people running fan servers are in agreement that WoW Classic is better than what they had.
Jesus Christ, This is Kotaku, you would think someone commenting here would realize that not everyone plays their favorite games or memorizes the lines from them. You’d also think someone would realize that perhaps the reason a particular game has such a line in it is because the people make the mistake all the time…
Well personally, I think its pretty simple. They’re not. They’re likely better than smoking, so if you smoke you’ll be improving your situation transitioning to vaping. However, that doesn’t mean they’re safe. Your lungs are designed to breath and process air and the natural substances found in air, breathing in…
People think this game will stay huge and have the same traffic as it did over a decade ago.
You’d be right, if you expect Classic to -maintain- this level of interest.
I wonder how much a hit to developer profits exclusivity is.
Except it’s not a EGS vs Steam dichotomy, and that’s a lazy read of the situation. People have already been using GOG (my personal choice), Origin, Bnet, etc. for some time. It’s specifically EGS they have issues with due to their numerous issues and failures.
I think my favorite part about this post is its admission that it doesn’t even take the time to read the VERY short article in-order to ensure a “First!”, and interject a comment about as deep.
It’s pretty telling that Epic wouldn’t even *offer* the guy any other terms than sole exclusivity. If the game were on their store as well as Steam, they’d make money, he’d make money, Steam would lose future money compared to the status quo where that’s where everyone buys it now. But that’s not good enough for them.…
Epic said to them “You either go exclusive, or you don’t get to use the platform period.”
Zack, gonna assume the policy read differently when you posted this, since you normally are a FUD writer, so just a heads up that the linked to policy currently reads: (bolding added by me)
This is pretty great. I wish they had listed the characters’ names/what they’re from, though. I probably recognized 30% of them, but I’d love to see side-by-sides of the rest with the character they were playing.
Ah what fun! Bereft of any purpose I’ll simply grind. For loot. That will help me grind. To get more loot. I am in no way a joke from Terry Jones’s 1989 film Erik the Viking brought to life in a miserable burning world. Hahaha nope, not me.
