Generally speaking, people who see Amazon as a good environment to work in have worked for other shipping companies; temps tend not to be these people, generally signing on for the crunch period to grab some quick Christmas cash.

I mean, there isn’t a real genuine way to say “why no, we don’t actually piss in bottles while working.” It’s nothing but an awkward discussion. The accusation doesn’t read as real, either; in these environments, any potential contamination of a product by biohazards like urine are very serious affairs, generally…
So, when is the Gizmodo media group going to turn their lens on other members of the shipping industry? Perhaps tour a few facilities personally? Maybe properly compare the industry at large, instead of just picking on the most visible target?
Hand picked? Probably. Heavily edited and curated? Unlikely. More likely they get a benefit for doing so in some way, to offer an incentive. There’s no real way to improve the optics here, really; generally speaking, when someone has some corporate branding, people immediately assume bias, whether or not it exists.…
Considering how often that “have to hold it in” line keeps getting bandied about, it’s worth pointing out.
With Amazon, as long as you aren’t only working during the crunch season, you are mandated for conversion after a set number of worked hours, which is less than a year under normal conditions. They don’t really cheat the system that I’ve noticed, either.
Let’s see here. First, the stock is given out on top of regular pay. Second, many lower-paying jobs actually aggregate the sick/vacation pay as paid time off now, not just Amazon, and not just warehouses. The tuition program is generally for programs that Amazon does deem useful, but this applies to any position, not…
Bobbin Threadbare is also an excellent LPer, with his ongoing “Game: A Series of Lectures” format. I highly recommend checking out his entries on Deus Ex and Sleeping Dogs.
How about no? Competition is healthy, when done right, and these are all areas where real competition has been sorely needed. It’s mostly a matter of doing it right, which first party companies like EA and Ubisoft desperately need to understand.
I have to know, which end would normally be... used?
So it can slam you in the dick, duh.
Thoughts as the movie progresses:
Funny you should bring up DOA. DOA is actually deliberately moving away from the cheesecake factor in their next game, at the same time that Soul Calibur is deliberately moving towards it. It’s nice to see that DOA is trying to be taken more seriously as a game, given its rather enjoyable fighting system.
Oh good lord. It’s not a shirt. Her shirt is pink. That is a life jacket.
Please explain to me the stance of an administration that has sought not only to reduce illegal immigration but also to severely reduce LEGAL immigration.
Then all that remains is that pesky Panama. Damn Panamanians, coming into our country, taking our jobs and forming gangs...
Don’t forget that the cartels fueled by the American desire for illegal drugs also make life in Mexico quite a bit more dangerous. You know, those drug pipelines for marijuana and cocaine from further south that still see a lot of traffic and are enforced with public assassinations, funded in part by the “war on…
Now, now, remember, nothing of worth comes from brown people except cheap labor. After all, they are the source of all crime, plus they are taking our jobs. And stuff.
It’s interesting how many people at/around EVO seem to have an idea of “fair gameplay” that doesn’t align with the established rules. Not just this particular fight, but also the amount of negative reaction to Bayonetta players in Smash.
Good to hear that you’re recovering well. If you have any issues due to your newfound disability that are tech related, send me a message; my father happens to be the leader in Assistive Technology.
