While it is true that there is a significant issue with mislabeling firearms on this site, this particular article isn’t one of the offenders. The term “assault rifle” appears only in the name of a bill, and the remaining article refers only to “guns”.

I think the Gizmodo Media Group needs to establish some guidelines on how they talk about potential weapons bans or control. It’s important to use the proper terminology to a) avoid overly-dramatic language and b) to show gun enthusiasts that you may know what you’re talking about. The constant use of the term

That’s actually the purpose of Jiren, if you think about it. Jiren is the absolute representation of a search for increasing power at the expense of all else, serving essentially to be a cautionary example for Goku. Whether he’ll learn anything from it, well...

Better to have it out in the open, really. Now we all know to keep an eye on this nut. Let’s face it, if you say something like that, whether or not you mean it, you mean it.

You made me chuckle. Have a star.

That’s why the buy-out program isn’t limited to legal guns and offers immunity from prosecution for having one. It will take time, but eventually there will be enough people out there who are more interested in a quick buck than in having an illegal firearm. Any undertaking like this is inherently going to be for the

Regarding the “only outlaws will have guns” comment, it’s worth pointing out that restricting access to firearms reduces the number of guns available to outlaws. Given the low rate of gun ownership being actually helpful in these situations, it’s technically a net gain.

Two part process. First, require that all firearms be registered in a central database, including sales and movement of said firearms. Owning an unregistered firearm becomes a felony at a certain point. If someone has a gun registered in their name and it was involved in a crime, if they did not report the firearm as

...except in situations that call for firearms, such as the population control of certain animal populations or protection from predators in certain areas that are effectively wilderness. Some guns are actually necessary, just not most guns.

Can you separate out mass shootings from more ordinary homicides? It might produce different data. Having straight homicide data doesn’t separate out the different kinds of homicides (premeditated, crime of passion, mass homicide, homicide during the commission of another crime, etc), which might be more enlightening

Amazon has the cassettes available from third parties, and at surprisingly reasonable prices, but the main version currently available is read by her granddaughter.

I had it as well, and I wish I still did. Alas, cassettes don’t last forever...

I’m sorry, I know it’s childish, but it looks like the evil empire of that film is preparing for the most colossal planetary teabagging...

The ultimate question here is one of consciousness, namely what conditions are required to maintain the state of consciousness that we currently experience. Consciousness as we currently know it is believed to be a byproduct of our mental machinery, something that isn’t ultimately necessary for survival yet is what

At this rate, I wouldn’t be surprised if most publishers go for a subscription service like Microsoft is offering for their first party titles. It’s anti-consumer, but it’s the next logical step in curtailing piracy, even if it leaves some players (notably people with poor connections) out in the cold.

It’s the fact that you pirate games in the first place. Microtransactions and the like are added to games to make up for the fact that people aren’t willing to pay more than $60 for a game, despite both inflation and increasing production costs, causing publishers and developers to find funding elsewhere. Pirate

It’s people like you that encourage microtransactions in for-pay games.

A person borrows a sibling’s video game.

It’s clear you don’t value digital goods in the slightest. By that argument, it’s okay if I make a copy of your personal information (social security number, email and physical address, phone numbers, etc) and share them online, because I wasn’t going to pay you for them anyway. After all, it’s just information, it

Frieza’s got it right, though, they are monkeys, not apes, because they have tails (normally).
