The best part is ordering the alleged murder victim to the ground without any irony.

And prison time. Potentially getting multiple people killed is worth more of a punishment than the equivalent of a jaywalking fine.

Noticing that the guy didn't know his own name, perhaps?

As much research as the swatters were able to do. They didn't bother call the wife? Checking that the last name didn't match? And its just one guy. If he did kill his wife and he is alone, why the hell do they need to send in a swat team? Not like he is going anywhere if he is in the house.

Internet telephony makes the whole issue more complicated - you have people calling in using "virtual" phone numbers not tied to addresses, etc. Finding them isn't so easy, especially given that they could be anywhere in the world.

Knowing the general area would do jack squat, though. And what if the person calls in with Skype via a vpn that masks their IP and location?

Uh huh.

This comment is spot on, but there's one thing that I can't agree with:

Or prison time. Either one.

Maybe, just maybe, we shouldn't respond with full militaristic force to an anonymous tip. Park a couple squad cars outside and knock on their door, instead of going in full force?

Yeah, Mac users are such a persecuted minority.

I'm not sure kids being up late one night is exactly the problem in this story.

Can't understand how you don't understand people live and enjoy different lives than yours..

All I get out of these stories is that cops are idiots and don't do their research.

I'd argue the M5 looks kinda boring compared to the CTS-V.

If that's a "sports car," my 210-pound self is a gymnast.

And a less responsive throttle and less 'Murica sound...

I have to say, the new logo sheds the "old man" image without sacrificing heritage.
