Thank god we’re *finally* getting a Uniqlo though. Super excited about that!

Uk doesn’t remove shoes either. I’m Canadian and pointed this out to my Scottish flatmate. Like in Canada it’s mostly verboten, to the point i’d automatically cringe if i saw him walking around on the flat’s vanilla coloured carpet with his boots on.

I especially like the massive pile of shoes people automatically take off at a house party. It’s to the point if i’m going out that evening i have to remind myself not to wear a hole-y pair of socks by mistake.

I’m adopted - my mother was in a physically abusive young marriage and she got pregnant back to back, twice within one year, before turning 18. They were Catholic and poor so adoption was the option for her.

Side note: Andy Samberg, in the beginning of the opening skit during the last Emmys, lists off the countless reality shows that reference to Wives/Housewives in their titles. It’s funny, since there’s so many of them, but it really hit home to me how the most widely watched shows are all about women simply known for

Once, at a first job at an animation studio after college, i accidentally deleted the source files for 4 minutes of animation :(

At least you have a partner, be thankful for that.

Seriously, this is my boss. Coach shoes, Michael Kors bag, Calvin Klein scarf, SUV to the Starbucks and only shops at Whole Foods. Both her (young) kids names are within the 5 most popular names in the years in which they were born.

Benetton was the one that always stuck with me. The ads were so good, i still remember them all.

One of the only companies i’ve stopped buying from, solely because their holier-than-thou vibe got to me. I really like their clothing, they fit well and feel great. But damn, that guy (even though he’s no longer with them), was the final straw.

I hear you, totally. My mom is your dad!

Best thing i ever read, that really started to snap me out of the low self esteem cycle:

She said, when i was 12 and she made me go to therapy, saying, ‘I don’t need therapy because i’m not the one with the problem, here’. It’s likeshe was saying, ‘You should really learn how to control your anger when i treat you like dirt. When i treat you like dirt, you really overreact and that’s a problem, because I

I’m not sure if this counts as a meanest thing, but it did speak to me a lot about my adoption -

When i worked as a cook in a local casual italian restaurant, we had afairly open kitchen. On one of my first shifts, a customer became ‘disgusted’ when he saw me using my hands to make a pizza (ie rolling out the dough and stretching it plus adding non-sauce toppings with my fingers) and he left. Like, how would he

Those last 2 got me hard. The little boy bringing ice cream to the waitress and the Santa.

Maybe write ‘GGG’ in the profile?

You’re right, in general expectations for women are higher.

There is a bookstore that sells vintage Playboys, (i’m female) and i’ve bought a bunch over the years, just to look into it as a time capsule. The design in these things is freaking amazing. All the illustrations - Shel Silverstein was a regular contributor, i had a magazine with a Warhol layout - the level of

The best sugary cereal i’ve ever had was when i was living in the UK and ate the original flavour (ie Nutella-ish) ‘Krave’ - i could eat a box of it in a day. Tragic thing is when i came back to Canada, they’ve brought it out here - but just the chocolate, not the original Nutella-flavour - CRUEL!
