The kind who likes livin’ large off his daughter’s work.
But it’s always nice to see you!
It’s up to Britney’s father whether or not she socializes, and with whom, and whether or not she goes anywhere, and if so, where and when. So yeah, those actions are not options unless the conservatorship is dissolved. Classic Catch-22.
... Britney has agreed to let it remain in place
The whole thing is a shitshow. No doubt she did need a conservator while in crisis, and I could be wrong, maybe she really does still need one now (though that would be extremely unusual), but the last person who should’ve been appointed was a close relative. Big mistake by the judge right outta the gate, there.
That’s been my impression, yes.
she didn’t have a choice. a judge ruled she was not capable of making her own decision.
Well, I don’t know that. I suspect it, but I don’t know it. And even I, leery of her father’s motives though I am, am not saying that it’s necessarily that simple. Taking a percentage of her gross receipts for himself is frankly greedy, but he may also think that this job is the best thing for her. People can have…
This whole situation saddens and pisses me off to no end. I wish there was a way for outsiders to step in to assist. Literally everyone in a legal position to help her is financially benefiting by doing the opposite; that shit is so wrong.
That breaks my heart. I’ve always loved Britney Spears as she was such a beautiful and charismatic young lady.
Tolerating doing the work, you mean? That’s what I think too.
She didn’t.
My longstanding suspicion is that part of the reason she tolerates this is because her father allows her access to her children and to have a boyfriend, and that if she refused to work, both of those “privileges” would suddenly disappear.
It’s very disturbing.
I don’t like whatever weirdness there was with the last fiance either. He was apparently (just looked this nonsense up) her manager since 2008, then dating, fiance, co-conservator, then they break up and he gets a social media scrub. I suppose he could have been a decent dude, but this whole situation feels like this…
I’m not saying Britney isn’t actually capable to do that, or for that matter run her own life in general (though keeping the financial conservator, who is not her father, would be a good idea). In my opinion, formed obviously within the limitations of being an outside observer, she is, and has been for years now.
Does she have any legal options?
i get that- but her kids are like-9/10ish
seems a bit odd
Disclaimer: not a parent. I don’t think what’s depressing/weird about this is that her kids don’t want her to go to work, it’s that they apparently say they don’t want her to “go be Britney Spears.”
