I like this one because it’s pretty universal across car enthusiasts, but to anyone else it’s utter non-sense. I’m a German car guy, but I know what SN95, Fox Body, F-body, C6, AE86, S13, R34, etc all mean. It’s like being part of a cool club.
But that’s the real core of the problem: WHY do we associate hidden fasteners with quality? It in no way is evidence of quality, and showing actually high-quality fasteners would say so much more. Why can’t we break this silly belief?
