Highly doubt it was “in development” this entire time. If anything it was shelved and brought back into the light recently. Game development is never simple.

I normally would agree and on some level I do agree, Early access is not a word or model that should be used likely by bigger developers, but at this point the game feels like a labor of love rather than a cash grab.
