I would straight up murder that dude.

I assume (maybe incorrectly) that these exchanges were made through their business emails. While that doesn't vitiate the invasion of privacy aspect of the whole mess, you probably shouldn't think of those accounts as a place for personal communication, or as especially private, and especially not as a place to make

I can certainly distinguish between what I enjoy the most and what I think is the best, when it comes to things like this. I usually use 'favorite' to refer to the former. I think other people do, too.

Burned through the Eternal Sky trilogy this year. Really enjoyed it, predictable mid-trilogy-slowdown notwithstanding.

I just got around to reading The Secret History this year. I have The Goldfinch slated for sometime in the late 20's.

I aspire to one day be but a year behind.

We Fannibals may enjoy some weird shit, but we're never rude.

I can completely understand that. TD became a pop-cultural event in a way that none of these other shows did, and that seriously distorted the critical landscape.

Not gonna pretend like that wasn't hard to watch, because it really, really was, but something about the sound of the tube going down an esophagus in the first (I think) episode of the season really squicked me out, man.

I'm 95% sure NBC is not aware that they air Hannibal.

Me too. I think they're both really good shows (that their champions seriously overpraise).

I think you're right that he's moved up his timetable, I thought the Red Dragon arc was going to be introduced in S3, but mostly occupy S4.

If AMC hadn't pulled the split season bullshit with Mad Men, I'm sure it would've been #1.

They're still working on it. I like to think that if the show manages to survive its low ratings and NBC's incompetence long enough to get to that part of the story, all concerned parties will come to some arrangement.

One thing to consider with Hannibal's high rating is that it's a show that critics might feel needs championing because of its precarious place in the NBC lineup. I love the show to death, myself, and think it's a fine choice for year end #1, but I wouldn't be surprised if that motivation didn't play a part here &

Showing up so highly on so many top 10 lists practically guarantees it. I mean, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that critics already have their "Season 3 is a disappointment" pieces written.

Ever have that experience of thinking the world of some TV show, or movie, or album, or whatever, and finding yourself completely incapable of figuring out why everyone else doesn't see it the same way?

I rewatched TD when HBO was airing it after Boardwalk Empire.

I don't know. Expert B&E man, ace narco undercover agent, knows how to break the bones in your hand with minimal force; maybe TD just never got around to telling us that he knows some Satan-taming exorcist shit, too.

Yeah, the Knicks are a hilarious mess. The Nets mortgaged their future — in the form of their next … is it 4? … first-round picks — for a couple years of being Miami's punching bag in the playoffs, and I just have no idea why Detroit is such a dumpster fire.
