If I can't talk shit about the show here, where else am I supposed to do it?

So a guy I know who travels in the TV making business tells me that a bunch of casting directors who'd been working on Luck (who'd also worked on Deadword, inter al) suddenly became available - because Mann wanted them out.  Apparently he & Milch ain't getting along.

The cultural references are gratuitous.  You don't need to bring in Peckinpah - or Deadwood, or any other critic-approved referents - to make a damning case for how bad this show is.

Yeah, it'd probably be a pretty massive disappointment - but it also doesn't have a chance in hell of happening, so there's no harm in vain hopes.

Hey, maybe with all the GoT love, somebody will decide to make a TV version of the Bas Lag books.

You, sir, have very shitty taste.

No.

Yeah, if I don't include it on my own personal list, it's only because of a mere technicality.  I agree with you completely about the merits of the pilot; as leery as I was about setting myself up for disappointment, I nevertheless had very, very high expectations for the episode.  It met and exceeded them easily.

I'm not sure Luck's Pilot should count, since its official premier isn't until 2012, but I'd be very tempted to put in my top 10, and maybe my top 5.

Yeah, "Crawl Space" wins for that scene alone.  It's lit-er-ally unforgettable.

Damn right, Louie was the best show of the year.  By a wide-ass margin, too.

Most of my nominees have been listed already.  I'll take "Brother's Keeper" over "Bloody Harlan" for Justified, and "Crawl Space" over the other Breaking Bad nominees; but I'll put "Eddie" at the top of the list for Louie's contribution.  That episode convinced me that, even though I'd already thought the show was

As for 1), I don't think it's so much evidence that Brody knew Isa (sp?), but that he woke up in the middle of the night screaming his name in terror.  That + knowing Nazir's motivation + Brody's admission that he loves Nazir = sufficient reason to take another long look at Brody.

Yeah, pretty much this.  I guess we'll see just how much faith Nasir has in Brody and how much he's just trying to get something out of this whole operation.  I mean, what else was Tom Walker going to do?  Plus, there's no indication that Brody got his confession video back, and that'd be a very potent chip to keep

OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD.

I think that was an exceptional episode, myself, capping an excellent season.  Best new show of the year, and it's not even especially close.  I couldn't quite fathom how they'd have a second season that didn't fall into the repetitive, endless ante-upping pattern of Dexter or 24, but Nasir's decision to try to "kill

That's the first time I've seen the clip since the episode aired; Serena's "Good" in response to Branch saying that it had nothing to do with her being a lesbian is priceless.

Instead of harping on just how bad this show is (it's still awful!), I'd just like to express my appreciation of Mr. Nugent's reference to Ms. Roehm's final L&O episode.  I've tried dropping the line "Is it because I'm a lesbian?" in response to non sequitors, confidant others would catch the reference because the

I have absolutely no idea how Homeland could be anywhere near as compelling in a second season as it's been this year.  But they've been so, so good this year, I certainly wouldn't bet against them.

My favorite episode in a while, but I kind of wonder how much of that is just because it featured a bunch of people from the show's better days.
