Personally I only visit Kotaku because they update so often.. if you want good games writing look elsewhere. RPS is my favorite but they only do PC, so I have to branch out if I want to know what's going on in console-land
Mike isn't even close to the douchiest Kotaku writer. He's one of the good ones
Your opinion is bad and you should feel bad
You just described Mega Man
I'm just talking about the final boss and the whole area leading up to it. Took me forever to beat, but perhaps I was too low a level when I tried it. There are some other parts that present insane difficulty spikes for mid-level characters. I still get flashbacks from fire gecko ambushes.
The Temple of Trials was hard the first time, but compared to the rest of the game it was a piece of cake. There are some areas that are near impossible without a perfectly specced character at a high level, and the final boss took me forever to beat. In contrast, I found Fallout 1 to be a much easier game, though it…
Oh please, I've had a lot more than 10 interactions in the last 10 years. Living in a big city will do that. I think you need to get out more.
Maybe in a few specific instances but in the grand scheme, sex has nothing to do with it.
The job of the police these days is not to serve and protect the people, or even to prevent crime. Their job is to find out what the people are doing wrong and gather evidence so they can be prosecuted. We (innocent citizens) are increasingly being treated as the enemy. 9 out of 10 interactions with the police I've…
how long did it take you to figure that one out?
what an astute observation...
Dwarf Therapist is absolutely necessary to enjoy DF. Things like managing military and jobs are insanely tedious without it. And it monitors the mental state of every dwarf so you always know what's going wrong and where the problems start. A single depressed/sober dwarf can start a chain of chaos so you always need…
Hahah if only that were true. My dwarves drown just building a cistern.. and then their remains get stuffed up in the drain and it gets clogged and I cant recover the bodies so vengeful dwarf ghosts begin to run amok and lure their former friends and relatives into the drainage pipe..
Yeah I was kind of making a joke. There's nothing out there that even comes close to DF. It's the only game that builds its own complex, hilariously morbid narrative as you play.
I think you posted this comment in the wrong article...
Yes DF is amazing. There is nothing out there like it.
It really isn't that hard. The interface is a bit obtuse but once you get the hang of it you don't even notice. With just a little patience, the game makes perfect sense, but most people see the ASCII and they just nope out of there before giving DF a fair chance.
I'm so pumped. DF is the greatest roguelike city management fantasy narrative simulation ever made.
