I always take the Ashcraftian opinion pieces with a grain of salt. I'm sure the Pro controller is lighter than it looks, but the 360 controller is heavier than it needs to be as well and the PS3 controller is pretty light itself.

It's an optional controller anyway. Every game that could utilize this doesn't really need to. It's made for people who WANT to spend the extra cash to get one of these. You'll get by just fine without it I'm sure.

The 3DS has the larger install base and lower development costs. It's easier and cheaper for them to develop for the 3DS than a brand new console.
