I have a late 2011 15" MBP and it runs great. Although I have upgraded to a DIY fusion drive and added 16gb of 1333MHz RAM.

The only issue I have is that gmail is broken in the mail app. Daily I have to create a new password (googles app password with 2step enabled) or I can't send or receive mail. Pretty annoying
