See, I don't get this. A large portion of tech blog readers are reasonably bright people. Already from reading some of your comments on this I'm wondering why then more people haven't already come up with actual, small arms sized, directed energy weapon designs.

@MadAmos: If the guy made a mistake and it's truly a 1KW pulse then a TRUE 1MW pulse would be a definite weapon.
