Reminder - Mark Webber was puking in his helmet / over team radio while running P2 in the 2007 Japanese GP (in much, much worse weather conditions) before being crashed out by Sebastian Vettel. And he didn’t whine a single time about being sick that weekend.

You will never hear me argue about Lewis’s incredible talent, ability, and success as he is truly one of the sports greatest.

It’s an ultra-rare Fiat X 1/18.

In Providence a couple winters ago I watched a snow plow build up a little snow-bubble and push a stuck car through an intersection and up the hill on the other side, without consulting the car’s driver first.

Joule thief!

Output out of the back of the crank is 755 hp, output out the front of the crank to the supercharger is 100 hp, so 855 hp at the crank. Where this really matters are parts like connecting rods and crank bearings that can only withstand so much hp before they become unreliable.

This whole anecdote neatly sums him up...

Too bad we don’t know anybody who’s good at making lists.

Tires with bigger sidewalls can take more abuse, and they also look better.

Agreed. I have never damaged a wheel or tire or needed an alignment from potholes/bumps/raised peoplehole covers in about 800k miles of driving (I have blown wheels and tires from doing stupid shit resulting in hitting curbs and uncovered RR tracks and I’ve picked up countless puncture-causers that Fix-a-Flat takes

I have smaller wheels specifically for autocross, but I LOVED how these 18s looked, and couldn’t say no to them as the summer setup :P

He’s just jealous. But he shouldn’t be. The also P4/5 looks like shit compared to his own car too:

I wish more automakers had this kind of passion when it comes to upholding and justifying the lineage of their own cars, from one generation to the next. Alas, here we are stuck in a world with FWD Blazers, Eclipse SUVs, and whatever Ford’s planning for the new Mach 1.

The crossovers are trying to steal their lunch.

Thank you for featuring me, I have to say I am both blown away & humbled at the same time. I’ve absolutely loved Cities Skylines for well over 1000+ hours at least and fixing traffic (as well as other City problems) has become somewhat of a passion of mine.  Such a shame real world traffic issues can’t be solved so

A few years back I had a month to kill before starting a new job. Being mayor/builder of my city in Skylines literally became my full-time occupation. My gf almost left me - understandable.

Langewiesche is great, and if you liked this article you should read his anthologies, or get into the deep cuts for free online at the Atlantic and Vanity Fair. His understated style and economic prose is a pleasure to read.

Neuville is starting to make of habit of crashing in new rallies. So glad he and his co-driver are okay.

Not even close. It means can you stick this big metal tube in this press and push a foot pedal? I can train a monkey to do most of this stuff. We hire people with no experience at all, with no requirements at all and they can make $12/hour their first day. But it’s hard work and that turns many people off.
