My 2011 F-250 6.7 liter diesel is quite heavy at 8,200 pounds (4x4, crew cab, camper shell). I always get over 20 MPG on the freeway. Now take an aluminum F150 with a 3 liter diesel, this is completely possible.

Completely agree with you. Wife and I go by the same 3-4 year loan but hold for 10 year plan. Modern cars are durable enough to make 10 years with nothing major going wrong.
