I hope the broadcast continues, but that they stop trying to make it “for everyone.” IMO, it should lean in to movies, and appeal to people who really like filmmaking and everything that goes into that (writing, makeup, wardrobe, production design, score, etc.).
I don’t think this means he is banned from being nominated/winning an Oscar. The language states he can’t attend events:
“Lots of socialites use their social position as a launching pad for careers (interior decorator is a favorite), which is exactly what Kim has done here.”
Kris is the master planner, but KK shows up and does the work.
sure, but not a “socialite”
I am no KK fan, but to label her as a “socialite” is crappy. She is an incredibly savvy business person and she clearly works all the time (do I agree with the way she spends her time, no, but that doesn’t matter). Shallow, annoying, overexposed, silly...all of those things apply to KK. Rightfully call her out if she…
Yeah, I take issue with this article’s assertion that no one leveled accusations about this relationship being a performance piece at Kanye. EVERYONE called it out for what it was for him: A very public way for him to harass Kim and try to make her jealous. He clearly deliberately did all of this to show Kim that she…
Kim is taking a tip from Adele on the whole “choosing myself” thing. If you look at the entire article, I think it’s pretty clear that she referring to the fact that she was basically Kanye’s muse/dress-up doll for the 8 years (or so). She actively chose this for herself, of course, so I’m not saying I feel bad for…
She is talking so much about it because that’s what she gets out of this arrangement—she’s working for exposure. And she’s going to milk every aspect of it.
I’m not saying it makes it OK to not pay people. But I think there’s a feeling out there that a Super Bowl performer makes some kind of big pay day. When it’s really about clout.
It’s worth noting that the musical artists themselves are not paid to perform. The cost of putting on the performance is paid for by the Super Bowl, but the artists do not receive a fee. Not Beyonce, not J Lo, not Bruce Springsteen, not Prince or any of this year’s performers (Dr. Dre, Snoop, Eminem, Mary J Blige,…
In the source interview this story is referring to, McConaughey notes that one of the likely reasons he’s a “frontrunner” right now is exactly because people don’t know his positions on everything at this time.
The entire reason they are asking McConaughey what he thinks is because he might enter the governor’s race in Texas. And it does matter what a politician’s views on this are, as they lead the state’s actions.
Do you think Jamie Lynn entered showbiz because it was her personal dream? All of this comes down to the parents.
They make a lot more than lingerie, but you’re entitled to feel how you feel. The Epstein thing is tough, because his association was not to VS itself, but a personal one to Les Wexner—who finally left the company last year. Forcing him out the door was cutting off the Epstein tie.
Actually, prior to Gu joining this collective, there was a policy in place previously to use only models 18+. It was a big deal when Karlie Kloss turned 18 and they could start using her for the fashion show. But maybe the 18 and up only applies to hiring those modeling bras/underwear/lingerie? Not sure.
She will be representing their sport line, I believe (that’s what the imagery Gu is featured in in the NY Times article looks like: sports bras and athletic leggings). She wears that kind of thing all the time—what’s creepy about that?
VS agrees with you—thee entire NY TIMES article is about how VS recognizes that previous leadership took the marketing in the wrong, male-gaze oriented direction for far too long. The article is explaining how VS is moving to a celebration of inclusivity (age, race, size, shape—celebrating women for their…
Conflict averse people hate-tweet the most—they can drop a bomb online without the human element that a face-to face insult demands. It’s a haven for cowards. I’d venture a guess that’s a big draw of a place like Twitter, you can be all bark and that’s enough.
