The brilliance of The Muppet Show certainly had a lot to do with the right people coming together at the right time. The thing is, the current performers are all really talented and funny themselves, but they're hampered by the audience's expectations.

I don't want them to never do movies or another TV show again. There were some great episodes of the 2015 show, and the recent movies were solid, especially Muppets Most Wanted. But they definitely thrive in the short-form format, and they should keep making YouTube stuff between bigger projects.
