This new one has excessive overhang and ugly details. The low polygon surfacing is terrible. Only good thing about it is that nose. We're just gonna have to agree to disagree

Shit proportions, even for a car of this class, and busy, incoherent details. The Elantra peaked in design nearly a decade ago and has been in decline ever since.

The price seems a bit too nice. Either scam or some grave mechanical issue warming up in the bullpen

This occupies a weird space. It’s a NP considering what it is as a car but if you have only $12,400 to spend on a car and you buy this you’re a fucking moron. Since its an SUV its not something you’re going to buy to goof around with on the weekends or on the track.

Marketing people can’t just ignore your emails all day, they need variety in their jobs like anyone else.

Those are all good points, but how do you even take those into account? I would say you really can’t since a lot of those would be ongoing without ICE cars and some of those points ICE only equates to a small portion of the overarching issue, like air pollution, climate change and C02 production.

The median US income is $63,000. The median US car price is $36,000. So no, they can’t buy one every year, but yes, they can buy one every few years if they live in a median place.

How does a carbon tax save people money? Gas prices in CA went up a bunch with the last round of carbon taxes and the manufacturers just pass the costs down to the consumer anyways. Wheres the savings?

Genuinely curious, how do you suppose that to be the case? I hear/see people talk about gas subsidies, but they are obviously no subsidies on buying an ICE car. So what would gas prices be without subsidies and how long would it then take to make up the difference between gas/EV’s to buy and operate?

Neutral: How about just no subsidies for any cars. Stop trying to raise my taxes all the time.

Tesla wants to have the autopilot there to generate new vehicle sales. They know it’s a steaming pile of dangerous shit, so they yank it from a used vehicle.

The fall of F1? Attendance was up in 2019. Three races had over 300k weekend attendance. Six races had a 9%+ increase in attendance. Total 2019 attendance was over 4 million.

Lol by what metrics is it bigger? F1 still has a massive following

Are you willing to put money on that prediction, Mr. Camping?

I don’t see it. Formula E is cool as a novelty but that lasts about 3 laps. Then you’re just stuck with slow cars driven by people who washed out of other racing series circling the track.

He’s definitely a racer. He participates in, and occasionally finishes, races. That doesn’t mean he’s a good one, but he’s out there and we aren’t.

Some info on the truck... it’s a Scania 140... meaning it’s a 14.2L V8 diesel that was good for around 375HP

Counterpoint: I am not an F1 fan, but if I apply this broadly to all sports I disagree. Social media is a scourge for intelligent thought but a boon for the 24-hour sports ‘news’ cycle. I thought I would miss ESPN when I ditched cable years ago but when I catch it now, I realize I spared myself a load of nonsense.
