Drivers at the limit 100% of the time is a myth, it has never existed. F1 is cyclical, the same issues have dominated the racing debate since the dawn of time and yes, tires have always been in that debate.

Smaller fuel tanks and make refuelling a thing again. Boom, necessary pit stops.

The good:
-Drivers will be more at the limit more regularly. There’s been a number of drivers that describe current races as “boring” because they’re driving well below the car’s capability to conserve the tires in order to optimize their race.
-Along with this reg change, there’s talk of massively encouraging ground

Ridden hard around the parking lot. The only adventure they’ve had is forcing themselves into a compact spot at the local Target.

No, an eagle owl.

“No bull, makes you horny”?

So, for weeks I’ve been seeing articles on Jalopnik about Rich Energy on a near daily basis and, sometimes, multiple times a day. I have not clicked on any of them because I don’t care who sponsors race teams and I don’t care about energy drinks. Today is the first time I have ever clicked on one because, well, you’ve

OH oh! Maybe Audi can sue next?

That’s the point. If the cars have to be this big so they can carry enough fuel to run the whole race, what would need to happen if you made the car 25% smaller?

Think about how you dress.”
So our cars should match our person? Not sure about that. My car is topless and makes some rather loud sounds from the rear end. It also drips fluid once in awhile.

4 Tone Is better

I think autonomous simulated fans would be great, saves actual humans from the bore of having to watch this crap

I’d like to see some autonomous simulated race fans watching an autonomous car race, as AI’s provide commentary, all with an ICO and some scooters woven in.  Or not.

This is the first interesting argument I’ve seen on this thread. I think the lack of downforce/aero as the dominant factor on how motorcycles achieve their speed is the big difference. Lack of aero allows for closer racing and the motorcycles moving around a little more on their tires, which adds so much to the racing

That’s some reductionist false dichotomy bullshit if ever I’ve heard some. People can value the input of a driver as well as the team. There’s no need for one to be emphasized at the exclusion of the other.

Autonomous cars would be faster and safer too, but that’s not the point of racing is it?

Because it takes the skill out of driving. You end up with follow the leader racing, all dictated by ABS and traction control. No one watches that, so it kills the series. But if you have cars that are tough to tame, it lets the good drivers stand out from the pack and allows for more daring passes. If you want to see

We have it all wrong, Ford was trying to save the manuals!

The car’s not moving yet.
