Stepdad was the greater threat. Either those kidnappers are inept, or he’s lying because he should have awakened alone beside his car. Maybe the boy gets dumped. His story is far too Hollywood to be credible.

Bad guys tend to take out the perceived greater threat. Which means the stepfather should be dead or severely injured and NEVER in that truck. At the least, he should have awakened alone, with neither child.

I can’t believe I’m writing this but a 1/2 year old is in many ways a better option because they cannot communicate to seek help. Not that a 5 year old can easily but I know my niece knows her name, her parents’ names and where she lives, she couldn’t do that at 2.

I hope to god the girl is safe, and that we someday are blessed with the actual reason this happened. This is fishy AF.
