I had never watched 1 or 2 before seeing Drift. It was on HBO or something one afternoon and I watched. You’re right, it’s a perfect stand-alone film. And it actually made me a fan of the franchise.

I read an article back when the movie came out that said they had to reconfigure every single car to RR.

I have to defend the movie on a weekly basis. My girlfriend refuses to count it as part of the franchise. She likens it to when Bo and Luke’s cousins showed up in Dukes of Hazzard.
