I purchased a 48,000 car in NJ and paid 7% sales tax. I then moved to a state, 3 years later, with an ad veloreum tax and was forced to pay 7% on the residual value* to register the car. Nonsense, cash grab.

AOC was elected by apathy -- 13% of registered voters in her district.  Some mandate.

Because drunk or not, its still MY money. If I want to be a d-bag and not tip despite fine service, that’s just what I [won’t] do.

It went from 15% to 18% and now 20%. Ive seen some receipts showing 20%, 22% and 25%. At least when they print those percents, its on the pre-tax amounts.  Some people (waiters) want you to tip on the tax too.

Yep, two years after I paid NJ 6.875% on my new car and moved, Georgia charged me 7% of the residual value.

After having this occur to me 20 years, I came up with a quicker method ... make the final amount a palindrome.

“ ... make sure you’re consistently backing up any important information you need, like reports you’ve worked on, contact emails, etc.”

Absolutely

No, she won Deep Blue California (4 million vote advantage) and New York (1.7 million vote advantage). Remove these two states and Trump did better.

Many voters rejected Hillary because she was not that “likeable”. Sens Warren and Booker have that same issue with large segments of voters. While people may not always agree with Sen Harris, she is a likeable person. That can go a long way in an election.

“Sotomayor only got confirmed because she’s conservative”

Crackpipe?  Nah.  Bath salts and Heisenberg’s Blue Meth? Yes.

Also saw Sir Patrick Stewart performing Shakespeare (The Tempest) in the role of Prospero at a local theater (PaperMill Playhouse, NJ). I was waiting for Stewart to tell Ariel “Make it so, Number One” Alas, he did not utter that line.

Because they are teaching that America is bad. They don’t mention the 1,000,000 legal migrations per year; plus asylum; plus family unity, etc.  If we are so evil, why do migrants pass through other countries to arrive here?

Twenty years ago, I saw him on stage at the Theatre at Madison Square Garden. Excellent. No Alastair Sims, but excellent otherwise.

Alistair Sim - Best Scrooge Ever!!! Now, take this pound and go to the store and fetch the largest goose and bring it to the Cratchit’s. And if you see to it quickly, I’ll through in a few more pence.

Love the screenshot from “The Night of the Hunter.” Robert Mitchum plays a diabolic religious fanatic (who happens to be a con-man, multiple murderer and kidnapper — who’s perfect?) who marries a widow to getg his hands on the $10,000 the widow’s deceased husband hid.

It’s [Not] Such a Wonderful Life ...

A government job = subsistence wage?  Please, earth to retromancer.

Please, this is why states are going bankrupt - platinum benefit plans, pensions, etc.  You give up salary to get those benefits.  Cant have it all.
