Uh, I just want to know where that image came from? If it's a 400,000-year-old tooth I don't think anybody would be able to touch it with its bear hands...

I just started reading the history of Henrietta Lacks and her cancerous cells which were taken without her permission in the 50s to make cell lines for research. It's beautiful and really well written, I totally recommend it if you want to know more about the ethics of science research and just about her life...

I was on a biotechnology workshop some weeks ago and we were doing some cell culture when a professor looks back at us (we were like 30 people, almost same number of men and women) and says "I'm surprised, this is the first year my group of students is not all Asian and male"...

Cats can be scary too: there have been an increasing number of mountain lion sightings in my home town of Kent Connecticut in recent months. I suspect they have been following the increasing number of deer in the area.
