Maybe one day they will change their policy and will charge "per year" usage with support and more often releases instead locking you in by one-time charge with no releases (except critical bugfixes once and then) as it is now.

When talking about Windows, where it is not that easy to run a command just by Alt+F2 (Sure, I have heard of Launchy ;-), I definitely prefer right side. Then I can put all daily used apps grouped into taskbar (multimedia, office, internet...).
@qrius: Is it that difficult to remember if your OS version is HH or II? ;-)
I love to read this. I hope this will become prevalent way to dealing with applications on the internet.
@VolettaBabalistic: Hopefully this might be the first step in this direction. Very sad that in 21st century, there is no such service to keep one's contacts synced from/to anywhere. Or is it?
