The clip *does* show two human women at an aquarium. Ergo, lesbian.

Scientific workplaces are really, really genuinely weird in this respect. I kind of love it.
In my current work environment (university science lab) there are actual guidelines for dress for both genders for safety rules - no shorts, no sandals, long hair back. Beyond that, it feels like anything goes...so it’s a weird environment to try and find one’s legs as a young woman who’s looking to get out of…
Right here. I pay my parents half of what I used to pay for my 1br apt, and then I help around the house and cook all the suppers. I’m a couple of years away from having enough money to own a house on my own, without the need for a partner/roommate situation. It helps that I actually like my parents as people.
I am. One of my parents has a serious long term illness that means we can’t leave them home alone so if one of us wants to leave the house, the other needs to be home. So I have a professional full time job, but I’m around on nights and weekends so my other parent can still have a social life. I’m not a total mooch -…
YES. I am totally fine with places that are designed to have rental units, like, Las Vegas, or a resort area in the mountains. But when you’re taking up a significant percentage of the apartments in Los Angeles and using them as rental units? Seriously not cool.
We age super well. There’s that. Oh, and we’re like, naturally cool and creative, as evidenced by most of American culture being based off of stuff we make up. Every type of American music style, for instance.
Hey there, leave polka dot ties out of this! They go with stripes and solids!!
I most certainly didn’t get married for that reason. I wanted a courthouse wedding with only our parents, pretty much as far as you can get from proclaiming our love in front of everyone in our lives.
They are wealthier because their bosses see them as more competent and responsible and promote them faster than any other demographic. Not because they work “harder”. Wasn’t there even an article on Jezebel about a study that showed that in academia while married women with kids were seen as less competent, men were…
You honestly think permanent sexual partners and offspring aren’t benefits to women as well?
For legal protections. There’s no way in hell I would have considered buying a house or having kids with someone I wasn’t married to. My husband is estranged from his family— if he were to fall ill and we weren’t married, the people he hates would have authority on medical decisions. Also, inheritance tax.
For me it’s the legal benefits. I have no issue with it being seen as a business deal if you have assets or dependents.
What do we get out of marriage? Well, a better tax bracket for starters... So... is marriage still inherently un-feminist when it’s between two women? How does that work?
We did a wedding hashtag and I still love it. We combined our last names for a super last name (that I’m stoll trying to get him to agree to convert to) and the year. Our was smallish woth just around 70. But we thought we were so unique, food cart check, Tom’s instead of heels, check, kazoo accompanied walk out?…
Two of my guilty pleasures are Say Yes to the Dress and Four Weddings. Over and over, brides appearing on these shows say they want something “different” and “unique”. For example: bridal gowns. That Pnina Tornai strapless ballgown with the overdone rhinestones on the bodice, that has been featured on at least five…
I actually think marriage is SUPER feminist, especially if a woman plans to have children. But ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ carry on.
It sounds like you’re one of the good ones in the Wedding Industrial Complex, but I’m pretty sure that I read that Halliburton is the largest supplier of wedding flowers and most cake toppers are constructed by Lockheed-Martin.
Not only that, but marriage is not only between men and women anymore, and non straight couples seem to get along just fine without anyone claiming it’s anti-feminist.
Oh, it's too late where I live! We don't have enough anaesthesiologists. So if buddy's busy with a c-section, you're SOL. :P
