The only true M3 competitor has always been the 911. The M3 is cheaper, but otherwise similar idea except for the M3 sedan. They have raced against each other for years, and they are competitors at the dealership as well.

Only the most die hard of Audi fans should actually buy this. And only those that have the means to keep it roadworthy. The brakes alone cripple the wallet. Timing belt/water pump intervals are also much shorter.
