I feed my pooches Orijen (freeze dried raw), Acana (Pacifica flavor), and Stella & Chewys (freeze-dried raw). I agree with other commenters that grain-free is a great approach! I also really like Verus, Annamaet, and Vital Essentials.

Innova and Evo were purchased by Proctor & Gamble in 2010, and have faced their numerous contaminations and recalls since then. A friend of mine owns a holistic pet supply store and refuses to carry brands manufactured by these huge companies so luckily she had eliminated them from her store before the recalls.

Orijen is amazing food. My older dog (who has cancer) eats their freeze dried raw food and it has done wonders for her vitality. I also feed my pooches Acana's Pacifica kibble, which is the same manufacturer as Orijen.
