    Oi!
    oitotheworld-

I dig a lot of Peter Singer's ethics and the term speciesism is right on. And I agree, it can eat a dick.

I don't disagree with you. I think it's subtle though; I work in substance abuse and find that is a common pattern for men to be considered the real addicts, and women just use because their partner does and are therefore victims to the man's addiction. Survival guilt is understandable of course, I suppose I just

Oh Blake. Women are permitted to do heroin without you "letting" them. Don't give yourself too much credit, homegirl was an addict with or without you.

Can't say I ever thought that Azealia Banks/Yung Rapunxel. But what it is, and that people consume it, is just as weird.

I think it's important to recognize that any position you work in offers the opportunity to be of service to people. Very cool.

you're awesome, always been a fan of your comments

Um no, it does have to do with gender politics. Calling a man by his wife's last name shouldn't be an insult.

It took me ten minutes to figure out what film this article is talking about because the title is never mentioned in the article except for the reference at the bottom from LA Times. Maybe I'm out of touch and should just know, but stop referring to it as "the film".

I think gun control is the wrong terminology to be used because it seems to be inciting some strange machismo reaction from opposers to it, i.e. "you can't control me and my guns!". It seems that a lot of folks tend to feel that the word "control" implies a loss of it which fosters opposition. It should be called gun

Errr I think you are misunderstanding what Zhi said here. Charolette Allen's belief is that schools have become too feminized and therefore when a masculine attacker approached none of the helpless lil ladies knew what to do costing many lives. Zhi here appropriately equated this to other school shootings where males

The entire discussion is about oppression as it is the harmful product of gender inequality. So any time a conversation ensues about gender inequality it is about oppression, no?

Just responding to the point in c) really quickly, what lack of opportunities do men face? Your argument is that men's only accepted role is one that puts them in a place of power and/or money, i.e. the definition of those on the opposite side of oppression. So do you see where that leaves women?

    a) I really hope I didn't come off as combative because I didn't intend to so sorry if I missed something you had already pointed out.

I hear you, the harm caused by the growing pains of industrialization were great, but it wasn't due to oppression based on inherent difference. I don't think anyone, if given the choice, would want to live during that time period - the sanitation issues, disease, unsafe work conditions, etc. - but if I use the "born

Hahaha don't defend yourself kaileyverse, this person believes that the fight for marriage equality is about happiness.

This is quite similar to the "women had it made, why were they complaining about rights (?)" comments I hear at times. Women had very limited choices with what to with their lives, they pretty much had to rely on a man. I understand your point that men weren't exactly living it up and had it rough too, but even if

I agree about Triumphs, they are the shit. Ahh one of my dream bikes is an old Bonneville... one day..

I am a woman and have been riding for ten years. I have an old bike now which is not a good one to learn on since they break down all the time (or at least mine does). My mom, though, is also about your height and she rides a Yamaha Classic 650; I think a 650 is a good size to learn on. One of my closest girlfriends

AGREED! They are the ultimate vehicle for trader joes vegan chorizo tacos everyday. And by everyday, I mean I eat that every single day. And you have to get corn tortillas from a Mexican grocery store or a non-fancy grocery store because the corn tortillas from trader joes and whole food suck.

Well said. I agree in viewing the world through an ethical lens rather than a moral one because there is something less deluded about ethics in general. The irony is that this person quoted Shakespeare's "to thine own self be true" as if humans weren't environmentally influenced and often indoctrinated with what
