I think the article is just pointing out that it ain't all sunshine and rainbows for these people. Although I would have preferred if the article went beyond “sometimes I don’t like it”, but that’s the media production nerd in me.

I think a lot of people just don’t understand how that industry works. And so it mystifies them when someone can make a decent living off of it. And when traditional media-types like Jimmy Kimmel nerd bash this new form, it just reaffirms people’s assumptions that this is just silly video games and will never last.

Just because someone is making an income in a nontraditional manner doesn’t make it less of a career choice. I would argue they have just as much security and protection in their jobs as going to work for some company, especially when layoffs and downsizing still make headlines everyday.

I think the weather and lighting system make the game look gorgeous. But I would agree that as far as the color palette goes this version of NYC is pretty bland.

Would you recommend it for someone who has no experience with d&d rules? I would love to introduce a new game to my game night friends, but a majority of them have never played anything like d&d before.
