I like the idea of versions. I just wish they took it further. Kinda like Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons, where you had an overlapping background but different regions to explore and people to interact with it.

I'm playing with a diverse team. I'm actually in the process of raising new Pokemon and completing the dex, all three of them. I'm doing pretty good catching and trading where necessary, but the game is horrible when it comes to leveling up. Especially in comparison to past games, especially B/W2—I miss the Black…
When the AC developers are just to make a Call of Duty game—*cough*Assault Horizon*cough*—the stories are pretty great, but even I think it's going to be really difficult to make Earth Strangehold. Sure, a impact from a meteor has the potential to change a lot of things about an environment, but Strangehold has a…
The interesting thing about this is that if you ask the elderly, most of them don't want to live forever. While they certainly aren't eager to die, the prospect of living many 100+ years is not very appealing to them.
The doomsday clock still really scares me. I like the fact that the game has an expected life plan of 20-50 hours; however, I'm nervous that I'm going to see the clock and choose to skip things because I'm worried I won't have enough time to do everything I want to do. I know there is a New Game+, which I think will…
I would like this too, and hopefully they can develop such a game in the future. I think moving to this simple 3D format is the first step in that direction. The updated graphics is going put more of a focus on the graphics for players, and I think they are going to demand more.
Ash not aging is a bit more problematic. Unlike Bart and Spongebob, Ash routinely travels and we observe time change around him in a consistent measurable way, say nothing more than the fact that his Pokemon grow overtime. So we obviously know he grows older, the question is just how much older.
You didn't have to click the link, ya know. If you couldn't handle the temptation you can't blame GameFreak for that.
I don't know why they would release the older Gens on the eshop beyond for nostalgic value, and if that is the case there is no reason to put the effort into the conversion process for those things to be compatible with the Bank. As the bank is mainly designed for Gen VI and going forward. If they are doing that they…
The level cap is a such a horrible excuse. True, they pace each individual game so that you're Pokemon can level up smoothly in line with the game's AI. However, if they were to introduce a Gen where all reasons are present, they would simply have to tailor the game mechanic to the new scenario.
I'm sure the money they will make from X/Y will easily pay for all of the ongoing maintenance that they will need for Bank but whatever. I will almost certainly get the feature, and they know that most of their fans will probably purchase it too. When I initially heard it I was thinking it was going to be around $15…
The Dex entries do not state that Arceus is the Creator Pokemon, merely that it was believed by (ancient) people to be, and of principally the Sinnoh region primarily. So it's perfectly plausible that Arceus is in fact just a powerful Pokemon. Within the game's canon it's possible that that there are many Arceus…
That's what science is all about. You are criticizing science as a field for the the exact thing that science is all about. Scientist put together scientific theories based on observation, research, modeling, and peer review—which is obviously limited to the information and resource that they have at any given time.…
The issue isn't how to prevent the climate from changing, because it will change with or without our intervention. The issue is how will the changing climate effect human societies, and what direction is that climate changing, and what can we do to ensure that the change in climate at the very least does not greatly…
The CGI effects don't really bother me too much. The universe is a beautiful mysterious place, and unfortunately we don't have the technology or lifespan to likely ever really see with our own eyes a very small fraction of what is out there; however, we do have some insight, and people by our nature are visual…
I felt really hurt by Assault Horizon. I could only make it to mission 4 or 5 before I had to put it down, I just couldn't play it anymore knowing what I knew from AC 6, 5, Zero. The story in Horizon was absolutely awful and was so bad it couldn't be ignored. The gameplay at first seemed nice, but I don't actually…
The more you watch the show or read the manga the more the little cracks begin to show and grow bigger and bigger. At first you ignore them, but then you start thinking about them and the more they begins to annoy you. I suspect if the pacing was better we could just let it pass by while we focus on something else,…
True, but the scale isn't anywhere near what we see in movies or read in books. A couple of thoughts: We always focus on the successes, but we have to assume that not every spore finds a few host or survive long enough to go through it's life cycle. Plus, the colony doesn't collapse. The spores will likely affect many…
It's actually really horrifying that GameFreak created that monster. In the first generation too! Every game where I catch one and evolve it I created think to myself, I am causing a creature to be overtaken with a fungus and essentially turned into a mindless zombie and I'm okay with that.
Wonkblog has an article up now about the, quasi-sadly, implausibility of human zombie making parasites. It essentially comes down to the fact that unlike so many of our animal counterparts we would know about it through observation and could quickly put in place steps to stop the spreading of the parasite.
