Ha yeah I wonder. This made me look up the Vietnamese written language, and it's interesting how they're able to signify the tones for each vowel sound. Hard to write though, I imagine!

The view from the East Bay is pretty nice, actually. There were probably 10 great sunsets in the past 2-3 weeks, even. I'd say that if you're on the peninsula, all you probably get to see is fog and cloudiness.
I've always wondered what how standardized romanization works. Was there in fact a Spanish or Portuguese speaker involved in the romanization of Chinese sounds? Who thought up the latest romanization for Korean sounds, and is it centered around a single western language or is it meant to be unique and helpful to no…
I was gonna write you a nasty reply until I realized that you might be onto something. I'd love to know how to properly pronounce Russian, Dutch or Serbian names, for example. Americans need all the help they can get being so isolated from everyone else.
Please Die.
Well now we're getting to a sensible discussion. You're right, insurgents don't wear uniforms. However, they do take credit for their massacres via Twitter and other means (you've heard of Boko Haram's kidnappings, right?), and through our intelligence we try to figure out who/where our targets are.
There was no justification for America invading Iraq. However, you'll notice that I never made the stupid generalization that all Iraqis are the same and united under an anti-American/imperialist banner, nor did I call them cavemen. I pointed out that there actually are groups in that region (and elsewhere) that are…
Most members of groups like Al Qaeda, Boko Haram and Taliban are not as worthy of dignity as your average Chinese, Russian or German soldier. They're cavemen with 20th century weaponry. The sentiment is not unique to Americans.
I'm sure it wouldn't look so terrible if kids (or kid-brained adults) didn't go and vandalize it to all hell.
So I wonder... what do they do with their butt? And do they really not wash their hands after handling raw meat and produce?
At the end of the day, that sponge must be nasty.
I think the Byzantine perspective in the background is way more interesting. What the hell is going on here??
You know who will never make anything meaningful? Overly sensitive people like you who shun criticism. I hope to god that you're not in a creative role making someone's life a living hell because of your thin skin.
I don't know if "thumbs up" is the right response here.
Is it accurate though? I always imagined Westeros as being more analogous to the British Isles than the United States, in terms of size. It makes the concept of visiting Winterfell from King's Landing by caravan seem like something one would labor to do, but not be a great one-way journey. Not to mention the task…
Science doesn't name anything—people do. People have egos.
Meh, they've had 250,000,000 years to perfect their form. :)
I have seen many times people trying to instigate something so they can catch it on video. It's also most times a snippet of what is going on and doesn't convey the actual circumstances.
That's my point. In my hypothetical scenario, I obviously don't find my own actions to be creepy. So what's your answer, yes or no?
Let's play with a hypothetical scenario. If my objective was to put a smile on my girlfriend's face by doing something that everyone finds creepy except me, do you then find it worthy of criticism despite my good intentions and lack of thought behind it?
