So it’ll compete with the Discovery on looks perhaps? Obviously Ford’s not trying to get the same level off-roading chops into this that they’ll be shoving in the Bronco. It doesn’t look bad. Having been in a Discovery within the past month, if they can get the nice factors really nice at a good pricepoint (sub $60k),

There is no way anybody will end up keeping that front bumper stock. The approach angle has got to be god awful.

I’ll admit, the only reason why I’m even gandering at a Chevy Colorado is because it can be had in gorgeous green.

Neutral: I’d buy a new truck over a lightly used truck if: (a) not a 100% new model, (b) new truck had a power-train that is difficult to find used (i.e. diesel), (c) if financing made it more attractive to get new over a used model.

This may be unpopular, but I really like the color scheme of green plus bronze wheels.

I walk by one in Columbus, OH every single day.

California currently is having an issue where they have too much generation as opposed to too little. With as much distributed generation as has been built, their natural gas turbines are sometimes idling because they have nowhere to send the power.

Dang nabbit, big guberment getting in the way of my sweet offroad fun

I honest to god don’t understand why LR doesn’t sell Defenders here in the US. There is clearly demand for them. I can’t imagine the price of making them compliant would make it unpalatable for sale here.

Question that is totally off topic: what’s the probability that Kurt would do a write up on shooting an auto show and the challenges that come along with it?

Volvo is supposed to finish construction/start manufacturing operations on their South Carolina plant sometime before the end of this year. That’ll leave just JLR without manufacturing in the US.

For some reason my Nissan Frontier doesn’t get some sort of idle just right when it starts the first time. If I don’t turn it off, and turn it back on, it’ll slam my transmission into limp mode. Now one would assume that the limp mode would be reasonable, like say 1st or 2nd gear. No young one, it goes into 4th gear.

Pretty sure that is a Tundra. Yep definitely a Tundra.

I’ve never sacrificed color to get a better deal. Doesn’t mean I won’t in the future. That being said, I’d be curious in a story on what it takes to get a quality after market paint job done since very rarely do the manufacturers make my desired hunter green on the models I want.

Based on the pictures you’ve included, how are 8 humans supposed to be safely belted in this vehicle? I’m definitely not the only one seeing two front row, two middle row, and three rear row seats right?

I came here to say I thought it looked like the front end of the Supra that’s been running around.

Wait. So which coveralls do you recommend?

What do you think the over/under is on the Ranger coming to US with a diesel option?

You’re winning the comment gifs tonight sir

I could be off on my assessment, but that bed looks like it’s lifted off the frame a bit more than it would have been from the factory. I’m betting on the cab having gotten a body lift at some point in it’s life and that that lift wasn’t done in the safest fashion. Years, plus salt, and failed body mounts we have.
