We don’t talk enough about the yellow on yellow violence epidemic that’s prevalent in racing culture.

By the way, if Deadspin had a whole vertical dedicated to side by side comparisons of local announcers calls of big plays, I wouldn’t object.

As others pointed out, it’s not tolerated at all in the minors/hs. For me to fully try and explain why fighting is not only tolerated but needed, I would need a few hours. It comes down to this, guys don’t run other guys when they know they have to answer the bell for it. It creates space for the more skilled

Fighting isn’t allowed in high school hockey (although it wouldn’t shock me if it was tolerated in philly). The real question is why, in hockey culture, beating the shit out of the other team is considered a reasonable reaction to being blown out 7-1.

It’s only the pros and major junior leagues which allow it. College, high school, youth, etc. are immediate ejections plus suspension.

Spoiler Alert: Human Beings are harmful in general, regardless of whether or not they believe in a higher power.

I blame Philadelphia

That video is the most Philly thing ever.

Other people are having issues with the Switch, despite the praise it’s getting from some fans.

I’m Asian American male. Born and raised here by immigrant parents. Honestly I never felt like that girl. I loved marvel comics as a kid and never really gave it a thought that they weren’t Asian. I wanted to be gene Simmons from kiss and wolverine and never thought I can’t becaus I’m not white. My identity stems

I have no opinion on Ghost in the Machine, I never read it and most likely will never see the movie. I’m a white male in America - nearly everything is made to appeal to me in one way or another. My thoughts on this video:

Then maybe you should have moved out of his way.

I think it was just to get Morena Baccarin in there.

Honest question: Would the revenue lost from NWSL actually cause the USSF to budge at all?

I am admittedly ignorant of the financials here, but it seems like if the gripe is, ‘we aren’t making enough money!’, backing out of the one competition that is barely scraping by from a monetary standpoint is pointless.

Wouldn’t

Yeah, going on a strike is a great idea for a league that has exactly one team (Portland at 16k) that pulls as much as the men — and that still being less than 17 out of the 20 men’s teams — and 60% of which can’t pull 5k per game. Seriously, great idea.

If you want to make more money, then you need to generate more revenue.

And yet the airline industry has some of the slimmest profit margins of ANY industry. They rarely break 2%.

This is kind of a pointless exercise if 80% of the jeans listed are various fits of Levi’s. It would be far more constructive to recommend five different brands of jeans and leave the individual style up to the readers. Now that four of the five options are from the same company this is really just asking people which

Well, I don't buy 5.1 music. But I watch a LOT of movies and TV shows with 5.1 audio. I think that is the real reason for all of this...most people spend a lot more time using their receivers for home theater purposes than or listening to music. Most of the music I listen to is in my car or on my iPhone and in both

I did read the article...and I just re-read it after seeing your comment to see if I had read it incorrectly. They didn't test the SX 1980 against anything "very high end". They tested it against one of the better mid-level (mainstream) home theater receivers and a run-of-the-mill mid-level HT receiver.
