I’m not saying they shouldn’t get any money, but why should they get a full time living wage for a sport that isn’t creating revenue full time? I mean, isn’t this just a classic Olympians dilemma? In theory, if the NWHL could draw fans, this problem would be eliminated... but it can’t so it won’t.
Back to the pond, rookie!
The money for USA Hockey largely comes from hockey parents and adults who play, either through annual membership fees or through tournament fees.
He was drafted but did not sign a contract or get paid in any way. Basically, the Canucks called “Dibs!” So without pay, he’s not professional. I think a lot of collegiate baseball players are in a similar boat (the baseball draft is the OG Infinite Scroll).
Arguably, given the extent of injury, it could have been up to a 5+10. But, ya know, they actually had to call the slash.
My guess, and it’s just that, is twofold:
Eh... it pretty much means there’s going to be a suspension, regardless whether the rule book says that “Hey, ya never know, big guy!”
Really? Because I know legions of people who have quit jobs because they had a micromanager. So if the job gets done, you really have to decide the degree to which you manage the “how” vs. the “what.”
Yes, there are only books for women to be better wives and if only there were books for the husband...
One thing that I personally feel is that husband and wife sometimes have different standards. And it is that difference that drives a difference in workload in relationships where husbands are actually willing and able.
I know right. Someone should tell Microsoft that those 400 million installs of Win10 didn’t happen. Because it’s dead.
They were bankrupted by a corrupt, centrally planned government.
It depends on the battle arena. In the Med or in littoral combat, a 25 kt sub might be fine.
Then you really don’t understand the logistics of air power and should start at the beginning.
Certainly if that’s where you get your kicks, great. For me, what’s great is that I haven’t needed to solve OS problems with computers for the last 15 years, despite being homemade. And your analogy is spot on because it is just like my car and a hundred other complex systems I’m heavily dependent on day in and day…
Really
How would you describe the weight? I tend to like heavier ones.

Probably true. I actually like the idea of tinkering with them but then I see the learning curve and it’s just way steeper than I’d like (ymmv and all that jazz).
I never said Linux wasn’t useful in any capacity and we’ll have to disagree about the GUI layer. As someone who grew up in the era that didn’t have a choice in the matter, I certainly appreciate the power of the cmd line. But since I’m not a CompSys, CompSci, SysAdmin or anything of the sort, I’m grateful that I don’t…
