Guys…I haven't played Bloodborne or Dark Souls 2 yet. There's just no time!

My experience watching this movie was the best:

I know what you mean. I think that there's always an attempt to appreciate the horrible affect war has on Snake or others (stamina bars, survival stuff, long monologues, some minor choice that impacts the game, etc etc etc wow most of these are probably in 3 haha), but it's almost always compromised by some tasteless

I never did play that DLC, I will when I'm back in Canada and have the proper stuff to do so.

How special is it that the game puts you into that situation at all? They expect pacifist runs will be attempted because it's a huge draw for the game, allow some really great pathways for the upgrades, and then say "sorry, too bad, shit is more complicated than your desire to have a perfect no kill run". What a great

Yeah, I saw that. I grabbed it, for sure. I loved the old games and thought "well, at least it's free if I hate it." I've yet to try it but it didn't look like much, which is a real shame.

I still play that game from time to time, in a meditative kind of way. The stakes are literally zero in it, but that really only bothered me the first time. It's a cool look at an ancient religion, one that heavily influenced Christian thought, and the game plays like a dreamy course in stress-release. I found it

I'm so excited for this. I agree with John that the reviews tend to reduce this game based on what it pays homage to. I suppose this is a matter of personal taste and whether you're willing to give it the time it probably needs to stew in your brain.

I still think this is a reductive argument that doesn't effectively engage with Hotline Miami 2. I've commented on it below and would love for you to come discuss it there as well. Maybe my points will show you that there is more to be read into it than simplistic ideas of edginess or controversy.

Exactly.

Regarding the discussion of Hotline Miami 2 and the optional nature of the scene,
I have to consider whether they felt pressured to make it optional or
not, because the optionality of it is very interesting.

I've been playing/streaming this game on Twitch and it really is excellent how divided everyone is on it. People watching me play keep saying that the game is intense but my inability to move while I'm hiding doesn't always make it fun to be a viewer. For me this game proves something rather fascinating about the

Saw this tonight. Enjoyed it immensely, am actually surprised at this letter grade.  It's better than a C+. I thought it was a surprisingly resonant movie, and quite a lot more human than this review claims, despite being pretty big-scale and occasionally too on the nose.

Oh Hai Mark!

She's definitely one of the characters I like the most on this show. So is Ray. I'm hopeful there is much more of the two of them next season.

Good lord, I was telling my roommate the same thing. So perfect.

Showed my friends Tunnel Vision today and they were freaking out over the production value. It's a great song.

I used to work setting weddings up. Fuck, what an awful job.

Christ, how life-endingly sad was it when you see Lin look back at the Airbender family, everyone holding each other closely and looking petrified, and you know she is going to sacrifice everything for them?  If I saw this when I was a child I would have been utterly devastated.
