Gold sells, it would be trivial to melt it down into 1Kg bar(you wouldn’t do jewellery) and those sell everywhere, anywhere with little to no questions. Trip up to a gold rich area(like say oregon) no gold dealer is going to turn their nose up at it and will pay the going rate.
