This may be one of the biggest dumbest career-immolations I’ve ever seen.

Literally at the same moment her testimony was wrapping up.

Holy SHIT why?

the fuck is wrong with people

This. It was basically a “budget” SW movie. It was supposed to be $150m and they doubled that because they reshot 3/4 of it. But the production was still a $150m movie and it showed painfully. Ultimately they played the May date to the SW fans because Marry Poppins is on the December slot this year. Given its

Re: Origin Stories

I wonder if they’ll try to get him to do multiple films like Sam Mendes, and try to lure Elba in for the second film using a director he knows.

Honestly, Solo would’ve done just fine in late winter, this summer movie season was brutal and congested.

Awesome. At this point, he’s legitimately established himself as a knowledgeable, creative figure for this space and this project and that goes a long way to anchor the show. I’m excited to see how the rest of it shapes up.

Considering how many Key & Peele sketches were essentially Twilight Zone premises with added hilarity, I am hyped about this.

Who is to say they’re not adapting something?

They may be developing a saga but that doesn’t mean it’l be original. For all we know they’re doing Old Republic or something on Bane or Thrawn developed from the Legends.

I’m curious what you’re basing “absolute trash” on.

but at its core Solo was unnecessary, there were no questions people needed answering to tell.”

Yeah, the timing between TLJ & Solo was quick, and Disney kind of own-goaled themselves by releasing Solo just two weeks after Infinity War. I was still shellshocked by Infinity War and literally forgot Solo was coming out until The Star Wars Show started covering it.

Well, I still have hope for the Kenobi spin-off movie where we learn he got his name by showing up at the Jedi temple saying, “ I’m alone. There’s only wan of me.”

Personally I don’t think its timing I think its a mater of differentiating the films more actively. One of the reasons the MCU works is its a franchise of franchises - with different tones existing at the same time. Like Black Panther being effectively a Shakespearean tragedy, Spider-Man: Homecoming being a 1980's

Disney are managing several Marvel movies a year, without any real issues.

One SW movie a year is totally doable. What needs to stop is constantly going back to the nostalgic well.
