Fun fact about Utada: ‘Hikari’ (the original version of Simple and Clean for Kingdom Hearts) was written by her, as most of her music is. When she translated it to English, she had to rewrite the chorus because the translation didn’t work properly. She ended up taking part of her song ‘Uso Mitai Na - I Love You’ and

I can’t wait to hear her orchestrated piece for it, though. Those tracks are always amazing.

Utada is almost always a part of the writing/composition/arrangement team or does it all herself. Has for over a decade now.

Now playing

I kind dig it but I’m more interested in the main menu theme. If it’s half as good as Kingdom Hearts II, I won’t even press START.

Maybe Netflix could stop dropping every episode at once.

Dole them out piecemeal.

We devour and hype Game of Thrones over a two month give or take period. Netflix shows come and go in a week before the next thing is out and the momentum is gone.

Seriously, stop giving it all at once.

You’d have to be one of the most obtuse people in the world to boil down an article about the complexities of diversity in media into “dur they said it’s racist”

As always, you can’t discuss issues of race within media, and look at it with a critical eye, without people disingenuously misconstruing it with “Oh my God! They’re calling it racist!”.

FTL stands out as the best rogue-like game ever made. I’ve been waiting for Into the Breach since they announced they were working on it. I’m glad to hear it’s good as I have high hopes for it.

It is all that and more. I like the gameplay and aesthetics way more than FTL, so this game has very much got its hooks in me.

“You’ll frequently feel outnumbered and hopeless”

FTL was just such a great snacky game. Something you could sit down with anytime and enjoy. Problem is, it was so addicting that I nearly always lost track of time with it and ended up staying up all night.

I’m really hoping for the same thing here, because that shit was awesome

My favorite thing would be if you held up a pen and paper questioningly. People who talk/lipread will tell you then, and people who don’t will write. (It is also always okay to just ask- “what’s the best way to communicate with you?” and let the deaf/hh person tell you what to do.)

Someone earlier in the comments mentioned how people seem to double down with their bad attitudes when their behavior has been pointed out as wrong. Perhaps you should read that.

I’m hard of hearing. In my experience, people don’t feel bad once they realize that you literally couldn’t hear them. They weirdly double down on being a jerk. I’ve had people get really, really mad at me because I need them to speak up, move to a less noisy location, or because I misheard them.

My point was that “I’m only staring at you because I’m trying to eavesdrop” is not a good defense here.

You think wrong, my friend! But I’m not surprised, since you clearly do not know any deaf people.

Hey man, being confrontational and condescending doesn’t really promote discussion either. If you’re really not trying to be a troll, maybe rethink how you word your posts.

How not to be a jerk to anyone: do not police how they identify themselves.

It’s not really your business what we’re saying, though. Eavesdropping is rude even if the people you’re eavesdropping on are deaf.

In their defense, they do know they were away for nine months. That would be time enough to find Geogiou in a prison ship or whatever.
