"Alleged" penis mural.

I had proof (a text message from my rapist actually admitting to raping me) and I had four cops....they slut-shamed me, made a joke about Plan B, and didn't even make an official report.

So, yeah, fuck you and your "tips."

I'll quit shaming jerks like you when you quit compounding the abuses already faced by rape victims with your condescending, cruel words.

Personally I think it's more important to get rape survivors support and help than it is to try to convict alleged rapists. If we break down those psychological barriers of shame and fear, we might get more convictions and hopefully lessen the burden on survivors and those close to them.

Um, I'm afraid it's not. I've been there, and he wasn't expelled or locked up.

Really now? Are you joking? By "DNA" do you mean "semen"?

DING DING. Spot on. I'm interested to know whether the OP is a man or a woman. Not that it matters necessarily, because both men and women can be equally dismissive of victims of sexual assault. But the post comes off as very "DUH why wouldn't you do this, I totes would if I got assaulted, and if you didn't you

"Nothing like posting a list of people you don't like and falsely accusing them of rape."

There's so much misunderstanding in your statement I don't even know where to start. First off, saying "a cop will stop people" is not categorically true and in fact, a lot of police won't even treat sexual assault as the serious offense that it is. This seems to be especially true when talking about sexual assaults

That threw me for a loop, too. Rape? Ehhh, whatever! Graffiti? YOUR ASS IS GRASS.

No, it's sad that you think rape victims are so incredibly stupid that you felt the need to issue this 'tip'. You didn't "have" to point anything out as a tip. You did that just to spit in the eye of abused women.

This is a lot more useful and handy than the penis mural in the men's room near my department that I have only heard about in rumor.

Clearly the people contributing to these lists feel/know that this is the only way to get attention to their assaults. People who want justice don't go immediately to scribbling lists on a wall. Suggestions that these women "just go get a rape kit as proof to bring to the police" are inane and show an astounding

Sometimes, getting a rape kit and going to the police also gets nothing done. Sadly.

Right. That list may have started as an actual attempt to call out sexual violators, but as the trend continues I can see some vindictive people adding men's names to these lists simply because they felt jaded in a relationship, or maybe they just don't like the person. This is bullshit.

That's a very helpful list of "tips"! No one has ever thought of those before! Convenient that you're ignoring all the things that discourage people from doing them. I'm not saying putting a list on a bathroom door is the answer, but simply telling people who have been assaulted to do x, y, and z without addressing

Well, as long as they're keeping the graffiti under control, order will reign.

I feel like we can blame Kimye for this. Solange was wondering what time the jet leaves for the Kimye wedding and Jay-Z was tasked to tell her she can't go.

As someone who comes from a family where abusive behaviors like this were relatively normal, I can say that the reason that Beyonce didn't react that quickly is probably because this is isn't the first time this has happened.

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate that body guard's heroic effort to press the goddamn elevator button while simultaneously restraining a fighty Solange?
