Top half? The fire started in the engine bay and engulfed the rest of it. The only thing that escaped damage was the tires and below. Also, I didn't own it to make the decision to scrap it.

My first car was a '78 Jeep CJ-7. I found it with the current owner just last month... being dragged to the metal recycling center. Apparently it caught fire going down the highway. At least I know how my first car died. This is the actual picture of it.

Early 2 stroke and V4 Saabs have what's known as a freewheeling clutch that allows the transmission to spin faster than the engine, but not the other way around. This allows the engine to go back down to idle when, say, coasting down a hill. It was invented to prevent oil starvation on the 2 stroke engines, kept

I have a question about this and the i8 maybe someone can answer for me. Since the electric motor on the back axle is just a starter/generator does that mean these cars are FrontWD in all electric mode?

Am I reading this correctly? To recharge the batteries you would just replace the saltwater electrolyte in the batteries without even charging them? If so, this is absolutely huge. If this works it would solve everything that has ever held back the electric car. Also, 2000+ ft/lb per wheel is basically magic.

Right. I see now that I wasn't thinking properly.

Does the crankshaft on the Alpina badge go to a SEVEN cylinder engine? That's definitely what it looks like.

The doors don't quite fit right either

I've always thought the WJ Grand Cherokee looks like a chinese knock-off of a Grand Cherokee especially in the headlights. Am I the only one that thinks this?

I'm a little disappointed in the negative comments on this one. I was really excited to see this creation. I wouldn't buy it, but I would absolutely love to build it. Look how well it's done too! He could have just replaced the bed of one S-10 with the cab of another, but he went to the trouble of chopping the baks

You beat me. Good choice

Exactly. It has nothing to do with the rest of the kit car looking terrible.

He started with a 300zx and turned it into an Aventador? Pshaw. He should have made a Diablo. A Diablo does have the same headlights after all. That'll make all the difference.

I think Saab 96's are about to go for millions of dollars. And I'm not just saying that because I have one to sell so just get that thought out of your head!

According to Wikipedia, the Ariel Motor Company that makes the Atom isn't at all related to the old Ariel that made motorcycles. Is this true? Jalopnik keeps talking about the new Ariel going back to its motorcycle making days and this is confusing me.

If this falls under part 103 ultralight regulations you don't need any sort of license to fly it. Am I correct in saying this?

I'm a little ashamed to admit that the fastest car I've ever driven is a 5.7 Tundra. But hey, 0-60 in 6.5 seconds ain't bad, right?
