“I leave my iPod Nano, full of music to take life less seriously by.”
The people of Shirley Jackson’s “The Lottery” didn’t gather in the square between the post office and the bank around ten o’clock on June 27th just for Awkwafina to bastardize their holy tradition 70 years later.
Whoa whoa whoa, wait a second:
Ah, the halcyon days when the nickelodeon only cost a nickel!
Even her favorite example, cis women who are assaulted by trans women in bathrooms, is a total non problem when compared with trans folk being harrassed and assaulted for daring to use a bathroom in public.
True, but I don’t think you realize just how hard “getting the interview” is for a random actor.
This ignores everything outside of the interview itself, which is frequently a sticking point for me in these conversations. IGNORE the “last name got me an audition” talking point. You still get to live in the town where the industry exists. You still have a place to crash just about everywhere you go. You don’t have…
Once, I had to use a left-handed microphone... man, I just kept punching myself in the face the whole show. Best show we ever played.
On the other hand, the video of him saying these things all in a row makes it quite clear that he’s stating it as a direct contrast to Taylor Swift. It doesn’t sound the tiniest bit ambiguous.
It’s the “actually” that’s the problem there, as it so often is. It makes the statement a contrast rather than a declaration.
Not really - the phrasing “we actually play live” implies a contrast, and “What? Just saying” is generally how people acknowledge a casual insult, rather than self deprecation. I’m a little surprised that someone would miss what he’s implying, since he isn’t exactly subtle.
eh, i could probably manage okay, but each hand has VERY different muscle memory. It’d be almost like relearning.
Eh, I won’t fault someone for being moved by the music at a show.
Seeing musicians I like do it really well live is basically the biggest hit of positive emotion I get as an adult, I don’t cry but I don’t blame her for crying.
it’s a video game adaptation. Those never go well.
Yep. I enjoy the BL style generally despite the very try-hard humor. I think that tone is part of its aggravating charm. Everything I’ve seen so far has supported that tone. I *get* some of the casting complaints but... I dunno. Like Hart is not necessarily a good physical match for Roland but Roland is kind of a shit…
Honestly, I’m glad he’s out of the MCU. I don’t get what the appeal of the dude is - as an actor. He’s obviously an awful person but I can’t see why he was getting raves for his performances. Fussy, pretentious, indulgent, with zero charisma. But I seem to be in the minority. What am I missing?
Honestly nothing about the games would be that hard to do with a PG-13 rating. The violence is usually very cartoony or against non-human entities, so it’s very glib and not like visceral or gory.
