Someone call Cuba!
GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE
This series must've seriously come out of a desperate 2am boardroom meeting where someone just blurted out "WHAT IF CARS BUT TALKING AND WITH FACES?"
'Can’t you just imagine a broken-down McQueen, tilting toward a fiery landfill apocalypse, like the nearly incinerated playthings of Toy Story 3?'
Lightning McKillYourself and so forth
black is for B A D G I R L S
I mean, just watch Treme again. Right?
maybe he should've broken it all down into bullet points?
exactly. whether it 'comes together later or not' is immaterial, because this is excruciating NOW. if it comes together later, all this early fucking about will feel like is homework. i don't want homework, i want art.
I also can't help but resent what should be obvious to everyone: that reviving Twin Peaks was an excuse for Lynch to cram in a bunch of other ideas he had in his head.
i just wanted Twin Peaks to be Twin Peaks, not Mulholland Drive. I like Mulholland Drive, but for different reasons than I liked Peaks. I'm not sure why everyone wants Twin Peaks Season 3 to be like Lynch's films so badly. It's a melding of Lynch's styles that kind of tarnishes the impact of the original series to…
indeed. very well articulated.
It's exactly like that, you nailed it. An eighteen-hour series is indistinguishable structurally and aesthetically from a two-hour film.
Also, Travis was a garbage character (no disrespect to Cliff Curtis, he did the best he could) and I'm glad he's fucking dead.
This is basically a capsule review. I don't like this show, and Herschel's Ranch might be the trick to finally get me to even stop just hate-watching it, but it deserves a full review if you're gonna bother reviewing it. Otherwise, it's just an insult to all the great shows AVC DOESN'T review.
As someone with serious depression issues, that interpretation actually makes a lot of sense.
About the response I expected. Try reading my longer post elsewhere in this comments section, champ, and save the condescension. This is very far from my first Lynch rodeo.
that's the one!
I'm sure.
