I knew it wasn't a great sign when I saw it was being advertised with 30 seconds of footage from the decade-old announcement trailer. At least it's a real game. That's got to feel like a victory at this point.

DC Pierson wrote that, and "quality indie flick" pretty much describes everything he's written.

It starts really promising and slowly devolves into the platonic ideal of a lame PG-13 horror movie, complete with boring exposition and unnecessary CGI. It feels a bit compromised.

I was fortunate enough to watch it in a theater, which is hands-down my favorite way to watch any film that is remotely transgressive. Still regret seeing Mulholland Drive and Spirited Away in a freshman dorm.

Law of Desire is fucking awesome. It helps that Antonio Banderas plays "Me, if I were gay" in it.
