To be fair, there is the character Kripke, who is Sheldon’s professional rival. He explicitly discusses how he doesn’t care for Star Trek and only read comics as a child. But on the other hand, he is also a pretty terrible person!

I see it as good news. Dorn reprising a Klingon would make them look/ act/ feel like the ones in TNG etc., while I want any new iteration of them to distance as much as possible from that material.
